Sometimes convincing yourself to go to the gym is the hardest part of your workout. We tend to find more excuses to skip the sweat session than actually finding reasons to go. So why not reward yourself after you have challenged yourself mentally and physically?
This may not sound like a reward at first, but down the road you will see how you have been able to benefit yourself in a few ways. Start a money jar and put at least a dollar aside after each workout. If your jar is empty, you have not been committed to the gym. If you’re jar is full you have been active with your fitness regime and you have probably reached your goal weight or have come much closer. This means you can celebrate by buying yourself a new outfit. Overall, you have worked hard to show off your revamped body.

Chocolate milk actually is a great post-workout drink to indulge in because it has so many benefits that follow. The high water content will replenish your body and keep you from being dehydrated. Also chocolate milk has been said to help aid tired muscles with the nutrients it contains, such as carbs. Although, chocolate milk is recommended for intense workouts rather than light workouts.
Either way, some experts suggest to avoid sports drinks such as Gatorade or Powerade because they are not often needed, corrode your teeth, contain high-fructose corn syrup, and other reasons detailed here.
After a long workout, your body needs needs to replenish nutrients. Instead of grabbing a handful of gummy bears to celebrate the success of your workout, reach for a healthier alternative such as greek yogurt and berries or a mango protein shake.
There’s nothing more refreshing than a bath. Since you are already sweaty and most likely sore, skip the shower for a bath instead. Be careful not to set the water too hot. Your muscles need to recover and hot water will not relax them like warm water. Add your favorite oils or bubble bath. After your bath is set, put on some relaxing music and soak in the tub for a while. Your body will thank you.
