Running is a good way for you to shed any excess pounds you have while at the same time having the best time of your life.  Can you imagine what it feels like running cross-country or even just around the park where you can breathe in fresh air and meet fellow runners?  This form of exercise not only helps you in burning calories quickly but it can also boost the strength of your body every time you run.  However, before you start losing weight through running, there are several factors that you need to consider to make this form of exercise worth it.

For starters, if you think you only need to just run then you are doing it wrong.  You should be well prepared if you plan on using this form of exercise to remedy your weight problem by finding the appropriate footwear to keep your feet protected to minimize accidents, sprains and strains.  Second, don’t push yourself too hard during your first run.  Although running long distances can actually help burn those fats fast, it is unhealthy especially if this is your first time to run.  Try to pace yourself by alternating walking and jogging first.  Once your body grows accustomed to this pattern and you feel like you are ready for the next level then proceed.

Third, if you want to make the most of running for weight loss, why not invest on a heart rate monitor that can help you keep track of your heart beat and the distance you have been running.  Fourth, you might want to have an attainable goal in mind before you start using running as a means of weight loss.  If you want to keep your focus on this method, why not ask others who are interested in shedding those excess fats to join you?  This will help you look forward to running for weight loss in the long run.

These are not the only factors that you should be thinking about when you plan on using running as a means of losing weight.  You should also consider your eating habits.  If you want to get the best results, you should stick to a diet that is packed with fruits, vegetables, lean meat and other healthy ingredients that can help reduce the calories that you take into your system.  Don’t forget to drink plenty of liquid such as water daily to flush out those toxins that are building up in your digestive system.  Try to make a habit of drinking at least 8 glasses of water every day to keep you properly hydrated.

Combining running and healthy diet can actually work wonders in your goal of shedding those extra pounds.  Keep in mind that although running helps burn fats you really can’t see the results in just a day.  It will actually take some time before you see the results you want but once you do, you might be encouraged to continue running to keep your weight regulated and your body well toned.

I do not run, however I do trade mill for about 30 minutes. That helped me a lot for my weight loss. I have observed that people are trying to target certain portion of the body, which not right. You can lose weight by targeting complete body. That is my experience.
