5 Best Natural Ways to Fight the Aging Process

Even though aging is a natural process, and is inevitable, we don’t have to go through it without putting up a good fight. I am a firm believe that it’s never too late to start…or, too early.

Since we are ‘as young as we feel’, and there is no magical fountain of youth, we have to find other methods to keep us feeling young. There are several steps and products that can be used.

I am going to share with you the different steps that will help you feel and look your best, no matter what your actual age is. So, if you are cringing each time you look into the mirror, or fear the day you will, read on to learn natural ways to fight the effects of aging.

1. Alternative Treatments

There are alternative treatments that can help you feel your best. When you feel your best, you are more likely to exercise, eat right, and take care of yourself. I know when I am not feeling well, eating right, or getting some exercise is the last thing I want to do.

3. Keep the Vices to a Minimum

Smoking and alcohol can not only affect your health in a negative way, but it can also add years to your appearance. Both of these vices can significantly dry out your skin, which leads to premature wrinkling.

They can also rob your body of the much needed nutrients that work to keep you healthy.

Some prescription medications can do the same thing. If you are on one of them, counter its action with plenty of water, and some anti-aging skin products.

4. Take a Deep Breath and Soak it In

Get outside when you can to get some fresh air and sun. Now, I’m not talking about tanning yourself into leather oblivion, but rather a healthy dose of some natural vitamin D that is beneficial to a healthy mind and body, which comes from the sun.

There was a time when a tan was important, but I started thinking about long term consequences over short term vanity. I have now given up the idea that I need to be tan to look good.

I now wear a strong sunblock (50 SPF) when out for long periods of time, and a lower SPF when I’m just out running errands. However, I wear one on my face any time I leave the house.

5. About Face

Since your face is the first part of you that people typically notice, you will want to take care of it. With a little TLC, such as a daily cleansing, a little moisturizer, and a sunscreen, your skin will be the best it can be.

Just make sure to use a gentle cleanser, preferably created for the face. The skin on your face is completely different than the skin on your arm. So, the soap you use for your body might be too harsh for your face.

After the cleansing, use a light moisturizer. It doesn’t have to be fancy, or expensive, just one that provides moisture.

It’s really that simple.
