  • Whatever you are lifting should be kept close to your body. If the object has unequal weight, then the heavier side should be kept nearer to your body.
  • If the requirement is to push or pull the object, then push should be most likely chosen.
  • While carrying the object, your vision should be ahead with head kept straight. Head should not be bent down towards the object.
  • When turning while holding the object, the entire body should be rotated. Don’t lean or twist body especially when the back is bent.

These suggestions may seem obvious and in the beginning, may feel awkward but with a conscious effort they can certainly become a part of your everyday routine and keep your back healthy and pain-free.

    This is something that needs to be engrained from childhood without delay. Trying to change some adults’ habits before problems start is harder work and problems can start before he/she finally makes a slow effort to change.
