Beware the Cafeteria Diet
According to the latest research, a cafeteria diet (cookies, chips, processed meats) is the perfect diet for producing high levels of:
- body-fat,
- glucose intolerance,
- blood-sugar levels,
- blood insulin levels and
- systemic inflammation
In fact, not only was the cafeteria diet more efficient than the standard rat chow diet at turning lab rats into obese diabetic lab rats, it was even better than a diet consisting of 45% lard.
Let me repeat.
Scientists found that a diet of rat chow covered in giant puddles of lard was less efficient at turning healthy rats into obese/diabetic rats than a diet of rat chow + nachos, hot dogs and oreos.

So, why do we feed our children this junk?

I suspect that rat chow smothered in lard just doesn’t taste as good as the products the food conglomerates have engineered to appeal to our palates.

I usually avoid cafeteria product but you can’t ignore them totally as they’ve become our integral part in day to day life. But now I swear that I don’t eat cafeteria items and suggest my friends too about it. Thanks for revealing it.
