Bidets Enter American Market as Healthier Bathroom Alternative

As we start becoming health conscious individuals, we have begun to question everything we do to see if it benefits our health and even the environment. One of the latest transitions households across the United States are making is the installations of bidets, a low-mounted plumbing fixture that is designed to clean the perineum area.

Due to the fact that dry toilet paper might not clean the sensitive areas effectively and even provide irritation while also possibly causing bacteria growth and infections, households are using these bidets for the cleansing abilities and the warm, gentle water flow efficiently cleaning the region of the human anatomy.

In addition, using a bidet might deter from passing bacteria, germs and infections to other individuals. For instance, one study has suggested that only five percent of people wash their hands correctly after using the washroom. Therefore, utilizing a bidet can be done hands-free and decreases the odds of bacteria contacting surfaces and other human beings.

There are an array of benefits for males, females, children, the disabled and senior citizens. Many households in Japan have already adopted bidets, otherwise called Washlets, and have added their own technological advancements to these simple bathroom fixtures – 90 percent of Venezuelan households have installed bidets.

The environmental effects of not using toilet paper are also astounding. According to estimates, we consume roughly 36.5 billion rolls of toilet paper in the U.S. each year. Also, it takes more than 473 billion gallons of water to produce the paper and 253,000 tons to bleach the paper. Electricity usage, energy and materials needed to package and transport the products are rather astronomical too.

In the end, bidets have become a form of not only an alternative health method, but also a green energy initiative.

In India the commonly used method for washing the bottom is a jet of water mounted on the seat, it is very effective and washes the bottom very nicely as the water comes with a little pressure which can be controlled manually
