When Herschel Walker was 18 years old, he was looked upon as a once-in-a-generation physical specimen. A soon to be NFL running back, Herschel was ridiculously fast, powerful & agile
30 years later, he is still ridiculously fast, powerful & agile.
He’s also a competitive mixed martial arts athlete and a cover model for ESPN Magazine’s “The Body” Issue.

So, how does the 48 year old ex-football player stay in such amazing shape?
At 5:30 a.m., Walker wakes up to do 750 to 1,500 push-ups and about 2,000 sit-ups….every day.

How many 48 year olds can say that they do 1500 push-ups and 2000 sit-ups in an entire year?

Herschel Walker is and has always been a physical specimen. When he played football he was one of the best. Can’t believe he was also on the Olympic bobsled team! Good for him. Now he’s kicking ass in MMA too. That’s something to really strive for as most Americans grow fat, old, and lazy.

Doug, this reminded me of a time in my life about three years ago. Every morning, I woke up and did situps. I don’t think that I ever did anything close to 1500, but it did help augment my workout routine very well.
