Home Gym for Building Your Essentials

You can assemble your own home gym without spending a small fortune. One of the important things that you need to do is to identify home gym essentials. Some people overspend with their home gyms because they simply buy equipment on a whim. If you know exactly what gym equipment are essential  and what are those that you can do without, then you can stick to a modest budget and avoid overspending. Do not be tempted by new equipment that promise the sun and the moon. Stick to proven pieces that have produced positive results for countless people already.

If you are planning to build a home gym but don’t want to spend a lot, then this article will be a good source of information.

Weights

Many experts still believe that the use of free weights is still better than using machines. This is because weight allow for a full range of movement. Some machines on the other hand can restrict movements. If you can’t buy a full set weights, then you can start with dumbbells. There are basically two types of dumbbells, ones where the weights are fixed and ones that allow you to change weights.  Although the former can be a lot of cheaper, it would be more economical for you to buy two bars and several weights in the long run because what you can do is just add more weights later on.

Bench

Not really a necessity but if you have the extra money, an exercise bench would be a nice versatile addition to your home gym. If you can’t afford a gym bench yet, then you can use any bench in your home as long as it is around 2 to 3 feet wide and is sturdy enough to hold you and the weights you will be using. Want to try some exercise routines that require inclined and declined benches, then simply put something at one end of your bench to elevate it. When it comes to home gyms, a little creativity can go a long way.

Mini Trampoline

A mini trampoline may not actually be a typical essential gym equipment, but if you are planning to buy a cardio equipment anyway, then you should seriously consider getting a rebounder instead. Rebounding is a very good exercise and actually offers more benefits than jogging or running. It is a low impact cardio workout making it perfect for the elderly. Rebounding also offers plenty of other health benefits. It can actually treat back pain and can help detoxify the body because of its positive effect on the lymphatic system.

You’ve probably seen mini trampolines being sold in stores. Before you buy one, you should know that the choice of a rebounder is important. If you will get the wrong rebounder, you can end up hurting yourself. Go for a rebounder that is durable and that is made from high quality materials. One brand of rebounder that you should consider getting is Needak. Needak rebounders are indeed some of the best in the market.

If you choose a mini trampoline, be sure to place it somewhere with a high ceiling and without a ceiling fan!
