How to Complain About Unhealthy Nutrition Products

Advertisements on T.V, radio and in magazines will often taunt the average consumer into purchasing a product that promises to help one appear more youthful or feel healthier. And if it isn’t youth that it promises…these advertisements often make claims that their product will help shed unwanted pounds and find more energy.

Unfortunately, most of those products don’t do what they promise. And sometimes, even worse…they can cause life-threatening medical problems.

What is a consumer to do?

There are a number of online resources available where consumers can find help in relaying their complaint and taking action against the business at the helm of the deceit.

Ineffective and Harmful Health Products

There are so many health related products on the market today that it can make your head spin. Most infomercials sound so convincing in their sales pitches that the average consumer purchases their wares in hopes of correcting their problems. Whether the item is used to help those suffering from cancer, obesity, impotence, or menopause, consumers want to believe these claims and purchase the products. Some items have even been known to cause numerous health complications after their use.

Federal Trade Commission

With all of the malarkey related to business products such as breast enhancement lotions, cancer cures, supplements for impotence, and anti-aging creams, consumers may be wondering what type of action they can take against these companies. The Federal Trade Commission offers a beneficial site for consumers that have purchased a product that either doesn’t work or has major health risks attached to the item. The “Who Cares” site is an excellent source of information for consumers to find reviews on products, scams, frauds, and file customer complaints.

Better Business Bureau

The Better Business Bureau is a trusted site where consumers can go to register complaints, check out businesses, or view accredited business listings. Here consumers will find reviews, statistics, and other complaints in regards to a particular business.

Complaint Websites

In addition to the Better Business Bureau and the Federal Trade Commission, consumers have an additional outlet to relay their frustration with a company. There are numerous complaint websites on the Internet where consumers can warn others about a bad product or company. These websites can also be directed to social media sites, such as Facebook and Twitter, where consumers can add their own experiences. In addition to warning other consumers, the complaint websites also have tools that invite the business to respond to the complaint and try to rectify the situation. No longer does the consumer have to wait for days to hear a response via mail or telephone. The Internet has given them a voice to air their grievances and notify others of any wrong doings, especially when the product is hazardous to an individual’s health.
