Simple and Effective Hints To Help You Shed Fat Even With Hypothyroidism
If you’re one of the many people out there that actually suffers from hypothyroidism then you’ll know exactly how hard it is to actually see results from trying to lose weight. At times it can seem that no matter what you do, you’re just not able to lose the weight you want to lose!
And this isn’t some rare condition I’m talking about. Hypothyroidism is a disease that is currently affecting well over 27 million people all over America and there are even more individuals out there that are still awaiting to be officially diagnosed and given the treatment they need to get healthy again.
While hypothyroidism is getting more and more common, there’s another condition that is also gaining a lot of notoriety and its called subclinical hypothyroidism. This is where the person in question actually suffers from a lot of the known symptoms that are normally associated with hypothyroidism but when tests are carried out their thyroid seems to be working perfectly. The main reason this usually occurs is because the person in question lives an unhealthy lifestyle and consumes terrible foods. A simple change in diet would totally flip things around.
Basically when you have hypothyroidism you will find that your metabolism will slow right down and you will find it that much harder to burn excess calories.
Not having thyroid glands that work properly is the whole reason you are going to find it hard to lose weight. This is because your thyroid is wholly responsible for producing two very important hormones known as T4 and T3. These two hormones are what actually make sure that your metabolism is running as it should be but not only are they involved with that… they are also responsible for ensuring that every single cell that’s in your body gets the energy that they need to function sufficiently.
Not having enough thyroid hormones running through your body is the very reason you don’t burn as many calories over a single day. And this is mainly the reason behind why people who have hypothyroidism are not able to get the body of their dreams.
But as with any other problem out there, a solution can be found if you’re just willing to look. Luckily for you guys, if you just implement the steps that I share with you here then you’ll very easily be able to get into amazing shape in no time at all, regardless of the fact that you have hypothyroidism.
1. Get a Doctor To Diagnose and Treat You
Getting a doctor to have yourself checked out is probably the most important thing that you will ever do. In fact it is the step that I’d recommend you get started with before you move forward with any other step I’ve mentioned!
When you go to your doctor they will basically give you a simple blood test that will measure two things. The first is how much thyroid hormone (T4 and T3) you have in your body. And the second is how much thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH) is running around your system. It really is as simple as that. You will then be diagnosed with hypothyroidism if it is found that you have low amounts of T4 and T3 and high amounts of TSH running about in your system.
If you’ve been diagnosed as having a low thyroid then your doctor will more often than not prescribe you with medication that is known as levothyroxine. This is a synthetic form of the thyroid hormone T4 and will help to get your levels of thyroid hormone back to the normal, healthy point.
This step is extremely important in order to get your metabolism up and running again, which will no doubt make it a lot easier to lose weight down the road.
2. Begin To Consume Healthier, More Nutritious Meals
The key step that will help you to shed all the excess fat that you’re currently holding on your person is actively working toward eating healthier, more nutritious meals. Every single meal that you sit down for should contain a good portion of fresh vegetables and a decent portion of protein.
Yes, I said protein for the very simple reason that it is the most satisfying of all the macronutrients that are out there. On top of that protein is wonderful for protecting all your muscle mass from breaking down and disappearing… which is key in making sure that your metabolism stays as high as it possibly can.
3. Cut Out The Processed Junk and Instead Stock Up on Foods Rich in Fiber
Believe me, processed junk foods are just empty calories that are going to completely hinder your weight loss progress so I’d highly recommend that you drop them from your diet for good! Instead I’d highly recommend that you focus on getting foods that are really rich in fiber because they are great for your long term health.
Foods that are high in fiber will help you to avoid getting hypothyroidism induced constipation! Along with that benefit you will find that fiber rich foods will tend to keep you fuller for a lot longer which is amazing, and is exactly what you need when you’re trying to shed those excess pounds!
4. Implement a Solid Exercise Routine
You seriously need to start taking exercise very seriously from now on, if you want to have a good chance of losing all the weight you want to lose. But the good news is that you don’t have to spend your life in the gym to get amazing results. Even a few minutes a day of intense exercise will help to really rev up your metabolism which is exactly what you want to burn those excess calories.
You might be surprised to hear that there are two benefits to actually exercising consistently. The first is you will be actively burning calories when you are doing the actual exercise itself. And secondly you will be boosting up your metabolism which will mean that you will be burning even more calories even when you’re not actively engaged in exercise.
The greater your base metabolic rate the more calories your body is going to be burning which is exactly what you want in order to get into really incredible shape!
You must keep in mind that while hypothyroidism will make it a little more difficult for you to achieve the goals you have set out for yourself… it doesn’t at all mean that it is completely impossible. You can still lose weight with great ease if you just implement the steps that I’ve outlined in this post.
Just make sure that you remain positive every single day and just keep working toward your health and weight loss goals… and trust me it’s only a matter of time before you are in truly incredible shape.
