Exercise is confrontational for many. ‘Do this, not that’ tips are, in fact, the tip of the iceberg. Try this – 1. Start with small steps, like 1-2 hours of moderate exercise per week. 2. Get away from your home and seek help. Fitness plans born of the individual using an ‘at-home’ plan almost always fail. Join an exercise class, group, club, etc. – even if it’s just walking. 3. Compartmentalize your routine, that is, set aside a time and place to exercise. 70% of success is showing up. With exercise, you need a plan that allows for a gradual change over several months. Through repetition, new, healthy habits are formed. Ten years later, you’ll wonder why you didn’t start sooner.
