You may be surprised to find that Washington, DC is regularly ranked among the healthiest cities in the country, even with summers that are known for high heat and humidity.  Washington, DC boasts a lower rate of smoking, and many of the areas are so crowded that driving is almost impossible, causing residents to rely on their own two feet to get to where they are going.  This great city at the heart of the nation is also known for a large number of parks and recreations areas.  Residents in this city are also likely to eat more than five servings of fruits and vegetables a day, a task that is made easier by the presence of many farmers’ markets in the immediate area.

Interesting post Lauren! Probably just a coincidence, but all but one of these cities (Portland) either has an NHL hockey team or is close to one (Minnesota Wild).

“Top Five Healthiest Cities in The United States?” I find the title of this article an oximoron. There is nothing healthy about any city, thus no city is healthy, period.
