Brighten Up Your Day with these 3 Citrus Fruits
Eating a daily dose of citrus doesn’t just cheer your mood…it is terrific for the figure. Start each day with a little citrus and see your fat run out the door. Grapefruit is the number one citrus option of choice. It’s packed with Vitamin C, which plays a fundamental part in breaking down the fat. A delicious way to get your citrus in is by peeling an orange and tossing it in the blender whole. Now you get all the good parts of the orange in the form of fresh orange juice. It’s sweet, delicious, and fights fat in a fierce way. Lemons and limes are said to have incredible levels of vitamin C as well. Squeeze a wedge of each into your ice water, use it as salad dressing, or toss a ¼ of one into your morning fruit smoothie.
Go Nuts
Pick your favorite type of nuts and keep them on hand for whenever your hunger cravings start to emerge! The nuts will give you that instant protein you need which will stabilize your blood sugar levels and keep you feeling full.
Head Out to the Berry Fields
If berries aren’t in season, frozen ones will work too. Berries can satisfy your craving for sweets and also suppress your appetite in general. Not only will they work up your metabolism, but also they are packed full of fiber. They are almost too good to be true.
Think Outside of the Box with Green Leafy Vegetables
Don’t head to the Iceberg lettuce out of habit. Green leafy veggies are a fast and terrific way to lose weight. The darker the color, the more nutrition they hold. For fast and healthy recipes, head online. Or simply toss them into a morning smoothie along with your fruit for an instant surge of nutrition.
Put Down the Beef and Pick Up the Fish
Cooked the right way, fish can be an absolute treat. Even better, it’s packed full of healthy Omega 3’s and protein…both essentials for losing weight.
Need a Snack, Try Diary or Eggs
Low-fat yogurt, cottage cheese and milk are all known to hold fat fighting ingredients such as calcium and protein. You should at least get 3 servings per day! Plain yogurt mixed with berries, nuts and a little Stevia can be a divine and healthy treat. Frying up eggs for snack time can also give you protein and healthy fats. Don’t be scared to eat 1 or two a day!
I’ve gone from eating hardly any fruit in a given day to drinking two smoothies a day! It does get a bit expensive buying all fresh fruit, but I found that frozen berries are quite reasonable in price, mixed with some fresh bananas, and here I am enjoying fruit for the first time in I can’t tell you how many years! I am eating one meal a week consisting of fish now, but I can’t make my main protein fish like Curt can, I still need to have a big steak once a week!
I’ve moved to eating fish as my main protein since the beginning of the year and have had great results. Â 5% body fat loss! Â I think all the meat out there is overrated (and w/ all the gross stuff going on in our meat processing, gross!)
