Treating Cancer: An Alternative Approach

There has been a rise in cancer patients opting for alternative treatments, both as primary care and to supplement traditional therapies. This is due to the various benefits provided by alternative cancer treatments as a means of improving health and quality of life.

Similarly to traditional therapies such as chemotherapy, radiation therapy and pain management, alternative cancer treatments can often involve a number of methods and approaches. Discussed are the a few of the most common alternative techniques used in the treatment of cancer

Detoxification

Detoxification, or detox, is the process of cleansing and purifying the body. For cancer patients, detox can be undergone in a number of ways. Diet, for one, is an especially effective tool in ridding the body of toxins and impurities. A detoxifying diet typically includes high vitamin and mineral content, which, through the help of antioxidants, will help the flush toxins from the body and strengthen the immune system. Other detox methods include techniques which flush and cleanse the kidneys, liver and digestive system.

Cellular Nutrition

The goal of cellular nutrition is to restock the system with the nutrients needed to fight cancer. This is done by assessing the patient and developing a personalized eating plan, which is dependent on factors like age, diagnosis, prognosis and overall health. These measures increase the effectiveness of nutrition by addressing the patient’s individual needs. As with detoxification diets, cellular nutrition supplies the body with disease-fighting anti-oxidants, as well as all important vitamins and minerals.

Cancer Suppression

Alternative approaches to suppressing cancer work much in the same way as traditional methods: by finding and eradicating cancerous cells. However, alternative cancer suppression typically involves the use of all-natural substances and techniques.

One common method of alternative cancer suppression is intravenous vitamin therapy; in particular, vitamins C and D. Research has proven that, depending on diagnosis, these two vitamins are often effective at destroying cancer cells. For example, vitamin D shows promise in the treatment of breast, prostate and colon cancers, while vitamin C, which is given in large doses, is becoming increasingly common in the treatment of patients with cancer of stomach, lungs or esophagus. Another vitamin, B17, contains powerful anti-tumor properties, and is often administered to slow or halt the spread of cancerous cells.

Immune Support

When the immune system is at its strongest, it has the ability to fight disease and help maintain the health of the entire system. In cancer patients, the immune system is weak and unable to defend the body from progressive illness. Plus, many traditional cancer treatments, although often effective at fighting disease, may further damage immunity and leave the system in a weakened state. Alternative immune support, which often involves herbal and other all-natural therapies, helps repair this damage and restore the immune system to top working condition.
